Friday we had interesting weather patterns. It went from gray to light rain to down pour... and then it opened up to blue skies and moderate winds. Within the changing pattern a double rainbow popped out to say hi. The rainbow happened when i was riding my bike home and i immediately rushed home to grab my camera to get a shot... I was a little late and caught the fade away over clark park.

Mom's Goes Martha . . .
Donovan posts: Mom is making her famous sour cream chocolate chip cake for Denison & Jennie's wedding. She tested it this week in a spring-form pan to see if it would work and look cute. Success!

demolished building!!!
Across the street, someone has demolished a beautiful West Philly twin. It had a gym in the back and a lot that was used as a community garden. These are pics from before it became rubble. They were taken on two separate days, and you can see that one of the walls has been removed already. I found it ironic that a mural existed of people holding hands, together, and we as a community have no idea about the happenings of the development. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the capital paradise will be...

Layla's Catch
This entered our house last night. Layla put it to rest. It now
resides in our freezer, awaiting its home in my sister-in-law's
collection of dead animals.

What a Crock...

This is the "hole" in front of the cafe that someone claims they fell into, thereby causing them to break their wrist and eventually develop long-term "carpool" tunnel syndrome. The insurance company is going to settle it, and the lawyer told me she's asking for $200,000, which as he said is "ridiculously high and is also par for the course."
As you can see, the depression is less than an inch deep, it's about 3" wide at its widest point.
What a crock!

Snowy Night in South Philly
Here's a few photos from tonight. I should branch out from my iPhone but it's too easy...
Jennie and I decided to put on our boots and take in the first real snow of the season. We went to Melrose Diner and got desert and tea. The last photo was taken through the window of the diner to the street. I like the way all of the diner lights reflected in the glass as the ambulance passed.... Kind of looks like a double exposure photo.

Snowy Sundown
Caught this scene just outside of East Petersburg on Wednesday as I
was leaving the office. The light was strangely luminous and optimistic.

Buffalo, Buffalo
With the day being inclement, I thought it fitting to share a photo from a trip I was on in November. While visiting Mark Ressler in Nebraska, we drove up to the Badlands, SD. While arriving into Custer National Park Reservation we came upon these beasts. They were hanging out right next to the road. Needless to say, filled with excitement we pulled over and I jumped out and tried to get as close as my wits could take. It amazing to see nature up so close and in its natural habitat.

Cat Convention

My neighborhood has a lot of feral cats. Earlier this week they all lined up on my back wall. I took this photo with my phone. It focused on the screen of my window but you can still see the cats ok. The best part of this event was that there are at least 4 more cats I could not get in the photo. When they all come by our house, both of my cats climb up on the counter and look out the window meowing and scratching the glass... It's hilarious.
